Cocopah, indigenous rights and fishing. Dilemmas of productive fishing system vis a vis conservation politics of species at Gulf of California.
This article analyzes the dilemmas that emerge when indigenous rights are affected by new legislations in Mexico. A new environmental legislation, in this case, has an impact in an indigenous group social, political, cultural and economic form of organization. All these issues will be discussed in relation to the cocopah case, indigenous peoples that continue to experiment process of integration to productive and political dynamics of the broader economic systems that contain them.
